Welcome to Alfonza W. Davis Middle School, the home of the Aviators, where a student's future takes off!
My name is Dan Bartels. I am very proud to be the first Principal at Davis Middle School. Davis Middle School's first day of school this year is August 17, 2017.
Alfonza W. Davis Middle School is a state-of-the-art school designed specifically to serve the interests and needs of students in grades 6-8. The school facility is rich in technology and incorporates state of the art architecture designs. Davis is the first middle school in the region that is LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified and is a “green building” school-wide. LEED Certification is the most recognized global standard for high performance buildings that are efficient, cost-effective, and better for occupants and the environment. There are two green roofs at the school for staff to incorporate in student learning activities.
At Davis, we will be proud to provide all students a safe and secure learning environment that is rich in technology and grounded in the academic fundamentals. The Davis staff will work diligently to determine student needs and talents on an individual basis. Instruction will be differentiated to maximize each student’s opportunities to achieve at their very highest potential. We believe all students can learn and will be successful not only at Davis Middle, but also in the future. Expectations at Davis will be high for all students in the classroom, the community, and at all school functions.
The mission of Alfonza W. Davis Middle School is: All students at Davis Middle School will improve academic achievement in the areas of math, reading, and writing as measured by district and state assessments in preparation for high school, college, career, and life. We want high schools in the region to know and appreciate they are getting a well-rounded, well prepared high school student from Davis Middle School.
